STEAM Program Specialist

Position Summary

The STEAM Program Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of STEAM programming across the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) communities. This role will report to the VP of STEAM, Financial Literacy, & Entrepreneurship to help develop STEAM programs from start to implementation, including management of event logistics and evaluation of each program.


 

The Program Specialist will manage new and existing programs, while working within the scope and sequence of the STEAM yearly plan. This role is essential to helping close the gap in the field of STEAM and provide opportunities and resources for girls to become leaders in the field. They will work on both short-term and long-term goals that fit within the strategic plan of the department, as well as the Council's overall goals.


 

Essential Requirements:


 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years project/program management.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working directly with vendors, external partners and/or volunteers.

Position Qualifications

  • This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
  • Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, problem solving and innovation.
  • Demonstrated skills in administration and budgeting.
  • Ability to provide training and put together comprehensive PowerPoints, etc.
  • Experience supporting leadership/management team.
  • Proven track record in developing relationships with staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other departments to meet mutual goals.
  • Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional computer programs.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours.
