Student Ministry Internship
This position is for a Student Ministry Internship at Living Water Community Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Living Water is a multiethnic church of 800+ with an active student ministry of 125+ students and 30 volunteers. We are a nondenominational church with strong convictions about being Jesus' hands and feet in our community.
Our Student Ministry Interns are trained to impact students and become a part of the youth staff. Our objective is to allow the Student Ministry Intern to serve, lead, teach, and mentor students as they gain experience in learning the daily operations of our Student Ministry. Interns become members of the Living Water staff for their internships. You will attend staff meetings, have opportunities to interact with our experienced staff, and coordinate ministries. Internships during school semesters will be coordinated with the Pastor of Family Ministries. Summer interns will participate in domestic and/or international trips with our students. College or Seminary credits are available.
Interns will be given responsibilities during their time on Student Ministry Staff. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· organize, prepare, and execute weekly teaching opportunities
· participate in mission trips and other events planned
· attend weekly meetings and planning sessions with the Student Ministries Director
· observe and gain experience in counseling youth and families as able
· participate in the supervision of volunteers and goal-setting
· initiate and develop ministry events from start to finish
Summer Internships are 30+ hours per week. It is expected to last a minimum of 8 weeks between May and August. The intern will be paid for their time during the summer in bi-weekly increments of an overall stipend amount. Expenses related to this position (travel, registration fees, direct ministry expenses) will be covered. Housing will be provided with a Living Water family.
Semester Internships will be scheduled on an individual basis with compensation to be throughout the semester.
