Next Gen Pastor

Next Gen Pastor 

 

Job Overview: 

The Next Gen Pastor will provide leadership and collaborative vision for our kids, youth, and young adult ministries, partnering with volunteers and staff to cultivate dynamic environments where young people are nurtured in their faith and equipped to become disciples of Jesus. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide visionary leadership for all Next Gen ministries (children, youth, and young adults), ensuring a cohesive discipleship strategy that aligns with the overall mission and values of the church. 
  • Oversee the development and implementation of engaging, gospel-centered programs for children, youth, and young adults. 
  • Develop a process to regularly identify, train, and equip volunteers to serve in Next Gen ministries. 
  • Actively partner with parents and families to provide resources, support, and encouragement as they disciple their kids at home.
  • Provide biblical teaching and preach regularly in Next Gen gatherings, small groups, and occasionally in main church services. 
  • Build strong, healthy relationships with students and young adults, investing in their spiritual growth through mentoring, discipleship, and personal connection. 
  • Plan and oversee Next Gen events, camps, retreats, and mission trips that foster spiritual growth, fellowship, and outreach. 
  • Develop strategies to reach unchurched students and young adults in the community, engaging them in the life of the church. 
  • Attend all church staff meetings and retreats. 
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferable) in theology. 
  • At least 2 years experience on staff at a church in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience leading youth, children, or young adult ministries, with a proven ability to inspire and guide a team. 
  • Competence in communicating biblical truth in a relevant and engaging way for different age groups.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple ministries, events, and volunteer teams effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Understanding of and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the BF&M 2000. 
  • A commitment to the mission and values of the church. 
  • A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders.
