Are you ready to make a difference? Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, based in Newton, Massachusetts, seeks someone committed to maternal and infant health to join our close-knit team. Our milk bank works with parents who have more breastmilk than their baby needs or who are bereaved, screens them for health and safety of the milk, and supports them through their entire experience of considering and fulfilling their interest in donating breastmilk to help save another newborn's life. Premature, low birth weight babies require donor milk when receiving hospital care and many other babies with special medical needs (and healthy babies) benefit from it. Our nonprofit ensures that hospitals and community families have access to safe, pasteurized donor milk to improve infant health outcomes.

This a great opportunity for someone with a mix of interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail and regulatory compliance, organizational skills, and can-do attitude. Professional experience engaging with clients and some knowledge of lactation key to this role. Please note: this is a primarily in person role.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen parents over the phone using clinical criteria
  • Extensive communications via phone, text, email, regular mail with donors ensuring positive experience
  • Extensive collaboration with other team members
  • Maintain excellent clinical records
  • Assist with shipping boxes to approved donors
  • Participate in education and outreach

About You:

  • Support services and/or counseling experience, preferably over the phone
  • Knowledge of lactation and/or lactation credential or related health experience a plus!
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Experience in a health care setting a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Strong computer and data skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Salesforce experience a plus)
  • High energy and commitment to our mission
  • Flexible and good sense of humor
  • Bilingual a plus

Education: BA required. IBCLC, CLC or similar breastfeeding credential a plus Health background/education a plus.

Work Arrangements: This is an in-person role, M-F, hours between 8 - 5 (flexible start and end time for 8 hour shifts). Candidates interested in a 32 hour work week or 40 hour work week will be considered.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
