Position Status: Full-Time
Purpose: Bear Creek Friends is an evangelical, traditional Friends (Quaker) Church in a rural setting with a growing congregation of all ages (infant to senior citizen). As our congregation continues to grow—having more than 100 people most Sunday mornings—we are in need of a spiritual leader dedicated to reaching the next generation for Jesus Christ (Psalm 145:4; Matthew 28:18-20). We are looking for an Associate Pastor who has the energy, skills, and compassion to (1) minister to and mobilize our youth for the gospel and (2) work alongside our Lead Pastor to love, teach, and be an example to our whole congregation and surrounding community.
Qualifications:
- Traditional, evangelical Friends (Quaker) theology with alignment to IYM Faith and Practice
- Formal pastoral training and/or experience and willingness to pursue further education/training
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Youth and Children’s Ministry
- Collaborate with youth volunteers and Christian Education committee to plan and implement youth meetings and special events
- Look for discipleship/training opportunities for youth and children’s volunteers
Assist the Lead Pastor in all regular functions of church and ministry
- Preach and teach as needed, monthly or bimonthly
- Participate in visitation and counseling ministries
Manage Online Presence
- Learn to edit and manage church website and social media presence
- Assist with AV and technology when needed
