Food Service Manager
Pecometh Camp & Retreat Ministries provides camps, retreats and outdoor programs to persons of all ages and from all walks of life. Pecometh has operated continuously since 1946 on the Chester River near Centreville, Maryland. We are a place where people play, learn and grow for a lifetime. Our mission is to provide sanctuary for Christian hospitality and programming that promote God-inspired, life-changing experiences through camp and retreat ministries.
We are hiring a Food Service Manager to co-lead our culinary team. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Tasks:
-Articulate the mission, vision and values, serving as a representative of Pecometh’s ministry in all instances, in both word and deed.
-Managing all aspects of year round food service operation and two kitchens.
-Ordering and inventory food for the RRC kitchen and the Camp Dining Hall (during the shoulder season).
-Being present and responsible to guests. Serving and preparing as needed where needed.
-Preparing quality, consistent meals for our guests.
-Establishing and following food service procedures in accordance with health department standards.
-Training, scheduling and supervising food service staff.
-Responsible for monitoring food and labor costs.
-Help to ensure guest compliance with our recycling efforts.
-Participating in staff meetings and contributing to Pecometh’s overall mission and vision.
-Other tasks, as negotiated.
Skills
-Proven experience in food service management.
-Extensive culinary experience including food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols.
-Demonstrated leadership skills with experience.
-Ability to oversee inventory control processes effectively while managing budgets and controlling costs.
-Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence.
