Position: Student Ministry Resident
Summary: The Ministry Residency is a full-immersion experience designed to help emerging leaders discern and grow into their calling to full-time ministry. Through hands-on training, personal coaching, and leadership opportunities, residents gain real-world ministry experience in a defined focus area. This role provides both the space and the structure to develop character, clarity, and competency for long-term ministry impact.
Major Responsibilities:
- Build relational trust with students and leaders through weekly presence, small group leadership, and intentional follow-up.
- Working directly with the Student Ministry pastors, plan and lead key ministry experiences such as weekly gatherings, camps, retreats, and mission trips that help students engage with Jesus.
- Engage in our student discipleship process by building relationships, leading small groups, mentoring student leaders, and helping students take intentional next steps in following Jesus.
- Support the student ministry team through communication, creativity, social media, administrative tasks, and a collaborative, teachable posture.
- Serve regularly on weekend ministry teams, modeling engagement in the church’s broader life.
Residency and Leadership Development:
- Clarify calling through coaching, reflection, and intentional ministry exposure.
- Participate in a structured leadership development process focused on spiritual formation, theological foundations, and ministry practices.
- Discover unique gifts and wiring to discern how God is shaping your future in ministry.
- Gain hands-on experience in ministry through teaching, planning, and leadership opportunities.
- Develop practical skills while deepening spiritual maturity and emotional resilience.
- Grow into a gospel-shaped leader who serves with humility, wisdom, and a heart for the local church.
Commitment:
One-year commitment from July to June, with the option for a second year. This is a full-time, paid position designed to prepare you for future ministry leadership.
