Family Ministry Intern
Reports to: Family Pastor
Weekly Commitment: 12 hrs/week (1 week will be 30 hours for Kids Camp)
Classification: Part-Time, Hourly
Compensation: $1,512 total ($12/hr x 108 regular hrs; 18 add’l hrs for Kids Camp)
Overview
The Family Ministry Internship is a 9-week program designed to be a training ground to practice a variety of ministry skills and tasks in order to gain relevant experience and serve in a church setting. While applicants do not need to intend to pursue vocational ministry, this internship will aid in discerning future ministry calling. Because every individual’s abilities, talents, and spiritual gifts are different, the internship may be tailored to fit that individual’s unique skillset.

Expectations/Requirements:
- Applicant must be a high school graduate.
- Be/become an active member of Fortville Christian Church for the duration of employment
Duties to be performed include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and record regular office hours, as established by the Family Pastor.
- Learn the philosophy of FCC’s Family Ministry and be able to explain it to others.
- Attend relevant church events (either to assist as staff or participate as a church member).
- Assist in the leadership and planning of regularly scheduled FCCkids and FCCstudents events and activities, such as FCCkids Sunday mornings or FCCstudents Summer Worship Nights.
- Work under the direction of the Kids Ministry Director to complete weekly tasks and long-term projects related to FCCkids
- Work with the Family Ministry team and assist as needed with camps and events, such as Kids Camp July 13-17 and/or CIY MIX June 4-7
- Learn the basics of the Planning Center Suite of tools for ministry.
- Complete an exit-evaluation with the Family Pastor at the end of the internship.
