Associate Pastor

The Associate Pastor serves as the primary support to the Lead Pastor, helping carry the ministry
workload and ensuring the mission of Life Church at Easton moves forward with excellence.
This role focuses on relieving the Lead Pastor of key responsibilities related to sermon
preparation, service planning, outreach, missions, and general pastoral duties.
While ministry experience is preferred, Life Church at Easton is committed to developing
leaders. Candidates who demonstrate teachability, compassion, emotional maturity, and a
genuine heart for people will be considered, even if they are not fully trained or credentialed.
We are willing to invest in the right person.

A. Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Support to the Lead Pastor
• Assist the Lead Pastor in casting and executing the vision of Life Church at Easton.
• Support sermon series planning, sermon preparation, and service design.
• Coordinate outside speakers and manage sermon development resources.
• Assist with marketing, communication, and promotional efforts for sermon series and
events.
Pastoral Ministry
• Provide pastoral care, prayer, and counseling as needed.
• Serve as the primary host for services (welcome, offering, communication, and closing).

• Attend Staff, Board, and Ministry meetings, as well as all church services.
Connections & Assimilation
• Serve as the Director of Connections, ensuring guest follow-up, assimilation, and
retention.
• Oversee volunteer teams related to hospitality and guest experience.
Ministry Leadership
• Maintain and support social media platforms through content creation and community
engagement.
• When appropriate, chair the Shield Men’s Ministry Board and help build community
among the men of Life Church.
• Lead the Young Adults (18–30) ministry by developing and executing a vision that
integrates young adults into the life of the church.
Flexibility Based on Gifting
• The Associate Pastor role may be shaped around the candidate’s strengths, skills, and
spiritual gifts to maximize effectiveness and long-term growth.
Office Hours
• Full-Time: Monday–Thursday, 9 AM–4 PM, plus services
• Part-Time: Flexible schedule with consistent office hours appropriate to salary and
responsibilities

• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to connect across generations.
• Familiarity with biblical teaching and the values of Life Church at Easton.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and emotionally mature.
• Effective communication skills for teaching, leading, and interpersonal ministry.
• High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
• Teachable, humble, and willing to grow.

• Ability to build and lead teams with unity and clarity.
C. Qualifications
• Preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate strong character and
teachability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field (preferred).
• Ordained Minister with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN), or willingness to pursue
credentialing with support from the church.
• 3–5 years of ministry experience preferred, but not required for candidates with strong
potential.
• Physically and emotionally stable, demonstrating integrity and commitment to ministry
responsibilities.
• Because leadership is shared within families, married candidates should demonstrate a
healthy partnership where both individuals support the ministry environment and model
unity, initiative, and accountability.
D. Compensation
• Compensation is based on:
• Experience
• Areas of responsibility
• Performance
• Availability
• Level of training required
• Compensation packages are reviewed annually during the budget review process.
Adjustments are made at the beginning of the year based on performance,
responsibilities, and budget capacity.
