The Role: Energy & Implementation
The Student Minister (SM) is a high-capacity, high-energy leader responsible for the tactical execution of the student ministry strategy. Reporting to the NextGen Director, the SM focuses on "boots-on-the-ground" ministry, building relationships with students, mobilizing volunteers, and executing events, rather than high-level executive governance.
Core Responsibilities
- Relational Presence: Meeting students where they are to facilitate belonging and spiritual growth through worship environments and small groups.
- Volunteer Mobilization: Recruiting, training, and equipping adult leaders to be the primary influencers in the lives of students.
- Event Execution: Planning and organizing logistics for Discipleship Weekends, summer camps, retreats, and mission trips.
- Parent Partnership: Implementing strategies to equip parents to lead their students toward Christ at home.
- Content & Outreach: Partnering with the Communications Director to produce scripts, lessons, and digital promotions that resonate with students.
Professional Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Seminary strongly encouraged.
- Experience: Ideally 2–7 years of experience in student ministry.
- Alignment: A firm grasp of FBC Waxahachie’s beliefs, values, and mission (A Texas Baptist Church, 1963 BF&M)
