 Faith Community Church in Sheldon, Iowa, is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor who loves Jesus deeply, teaches God’s Word faithfully, and shepherds God’s people with humility, wisdom, and compassion. We are a multigenerational, non-denominational Christian church with just over 200 active members and an average Sunday attendance of 150–175. Our church family includes young families, children, youth, adults, and seniors, all worshiping and growing together. We offer two Sunday services—Traditional/Liturgical at 8:30 AM and Contemporary at 11:00 AM—as well as a strong set of ministries focused on discipleship, outreach, and community.

Faith Community Church is grounded in Scripture, fellowship, and discipleship. We place a strong emphasis on nurturing the next generation, building authentic community, and engaging our neighbors with the love of Christ.

Key Ministries 

➢ Sunday School for ages 3–4 through adult (50+ weekly attendance)

 ➢ Family Discipleship Night (launched Fall 2025) with supper, Children’s Ministry, Impact Youth, and an Adult Bible Study (70–80 children/youth attendance and about a dozen adult attendees) 

➢ Vacation Bible School (~100 children annually) 

➢ Community outreach including a summer lunch program, Love Inc., Coats for Kids, Unity Meal, special services, community events, and more 

➢ Mission support locally, regionally, and globally

The church is guided by a 15-member Administration Board working collaboratively with the Lead Pastor. 

A parsonage is provided directly across the street from the church.

Position Summary 

The Lead Pastor provides biblical teaching, spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and vision for the church. This pastor will work collaboratively with the Administration Board, staff, and ministry leaders to nurture church health, develop leaders, strengthen outreach, and equip the congregation for discipleship.

Education & Experience 

➢ Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies

 ➢ Preferred: Master’s-level theological degree (MDiv, ThM, MACC, MCL, etc.)

 ➢ 3–5 years of pastoral/ministry experience in a church setting
