About:
Wesley Woods Christian Camp is a summer camp located on 500 acres in Grand Valley in Northwestern PA (about an hour from Erie). Each summer we have between 250 and 300 campers (not including our summer guest groups who bring about 200 of their own participants and leaders). Camp sessions run Sunday morning through Friday night (off between sessions)
Our mission is connecting people to God through Jesus Christ. We do this in a camp based setting, with camps varying from traditional models (Best of Summer Sampler- BOSS week) to our specialty camps (NERF, Adventure, Exceptional Persons, and more). Each of these camps exist to provide a fun and hospitable context where people can encounter Christ and establish/deepen a relationship with Him.
Having the right people is CENTRAL to what we do. That’s where you come in.
Position:
The Summer Adventure Manager works directly with the Executive Director to lead the adventure activities we provide at camp. This happens through our rock climbing, challenge course, canoe trips, overnight camping trips, and more. The Aquatics Manager works closely with volunteers, other staff, program facilitators, and the summer program director. The camp season runs from June 1st through August 8th. Weeks off can be requested.

Qualifications:
● Have a personal and saving faith in Christ
● Have a positive and teachable attitude with a desire to learn and work as a member of a
team
● Current student studying Outdoor Education, Education, Psychology, Youth Ministry, Exercise Science, or a related field
● Experience in leading adventure activities, preferably in camp setting
● Excellent interpersonal skills, communication is key for this role
● Current climbing/challenge course/wilderness medicine certification is a plus, though not required
Responsibilities:
● Handle logistics with scheduling different camps’ adventure activities, as well as staff schedules
● Ensure pre-use equipment checks are performed with adventure equipment
● Familiarize self with Wesley Woods’ procedures and be able implement them
● Aid director in leading adventure drills/training efforts during staff training
● Lead offsite adventure trips with camp deans and other staff members
● Work closely with Summer Program Manager in training program facilitators/designing their schedules
● Occasionally lead staff devotions
