What is Urban Leadership Project (ULP) Summer Camp
ULP Summer Camp is Oaks Ministries day camp through which we desire to see neighborhood students flourish in Christ. 6th-8th grade students will be selected from among those who have shown faithful attendance at Oaks Ministries School Year programs.
Urban Leadership Project, 6th-8th, will take place at The Depot 638 Greene Street, June 1st - July 2nd, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am – 2:00 pm; Fridays 8:30-1:00pm
Small Group Leader Job Description/Expectations
ULP Small Group Leaders' primary role is to positively impact the lives of the students they will be engaging this summer and encourage them to grow in their walk with the Lord. It is the small group leader's responsibility to help create an environment for each student to flourish. Every student is different and we expect our small group leaders to build relationships with their students, think well and have a plan for their group everyday, take initiative in leading, and be a positive role model for their students. Small group leaders must be able to handle a small group of students and be able to assess the needs of the group. Small group leaders should not try to be best friends with everyone in the group, but see to it that everyone develops healthy friendships and that the group builds unity and cohesiveness during camp. Lastly we expect our small group leaders to be able to CHAT!

Responsibilities/Skills Needed
- Attend training and orientation May 26th-29th
- Lead a group of 8-10 high school students
- Lead various lessons and activities
- Handle disciplinary issues as they arise
- Report issues to Camp Coordinator as needed
- Help transport students as needed
- Pray for and think well for each of your students
- Be Flexible
