Coordinator Family Formation

The mission of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the archdiocese is seeking a Coordinator for Family Formationand Children's Catechesis. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Lifelong Formation and will support both English and Spanish-speaking parishes as they develop faith formation models for children and families in light of the archdiocesan "Forming Disciples ReligionCurriculum Guide." This position is also responsible for ensuring implementation and compliance with the annual Safe Environment training of students in parish religious education programs as well as the implementation of annual Faith Knowledge Assessment. The Coordinator supports the Secretariat with all large-scale events.

 

The Coordinator must have an energy and enthusiasm born of a spirit of mission for the Gospel as she/hesupports parish leadersand catechists. Accountability, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal skills, and a synodal, collaborative ministerial spirit are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Candidate must be knowledgeable of and committed to the teachingsof the Catholic Church, as well as evidence a spirit of discipleship.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handlemultiple tasks under time sensitivedeadlines.
  • Ability to handleconfidential and sensitive information.

 

           Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in religious education or a relatedfield.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in parish catechesis or evangelization.
  • •Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and writtenskills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Officeto include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

 

The salary for this role is $65,000 to $70,000 with excellent benefits
