Pastor of Community Life & Assimilation

Overview:

This role is responsible for:

  1. Developing and overseeing small groups, connecting newcomers, and facilitating opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth.
  2. Fostering a strong sense of belonging, discipleship, and engagement within the Life Bible Fellowship Church community.
  3. Baptisms, Child Dedications, and Meet LBF events.

 

Purpose:

As the Pastor of Community Life, you will lead and cultivate a vibrant, connected, and spiritually thriving church community by fostering meaningful relationships, promoting discipleship, and facilitating opportunities for growth and service.

 

Responsibilities:

PASTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE

In collaboration with Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Pastor of Assimilation:

 

Community Building & Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to create a welcoming and inclusive church environment.
  • Lead efforts to integrate new members into the life of Life Bible Fellowship Church.
  • Organize events, gatherings, and programs that strengthen Life Bible Fellowship Church community relationships.
  • Oversee Meet LBF three-step meetings.

 

Baptism 

  • Coordinate Baptism ministry and schedule.
  • Interview candidates to ensure they have a Christian testimony and understand the meaning of Baptism.
  • Manage the details of Baptism Sundays to include:  Leaders performing the Baptisms, Baptismal(s) set-up requests, Baptism certificates, etc.

 

Small Groups & Discipleship 

  • Oversee and support small group ministries, including recruitment, training, and development of leaders.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor to coordinate the teaching ministry with a twice-annual launch for new small groups.
  • Create pathways for spiritual growth through discipleship initiatives and Bible studies.
  • Encourage participation in small groups as a means of deepening one's faith and connection.

Volunteer & Leadership Development

  • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers to serve in community-focused ministries.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to equip leaders for effective ministry.
  • Encourage a culture of servant leadership within the church.

 

Outreach & Mission Integration

  • Collaborate with outreach ministries to connect community life with local missions and service projects.
  • Encourage members to engage in outreach and evangelism efforts.
  • Partner with other church ministries to ensure a holistic approach to spiritual and community development.

        

Responsibilities:

PASTOR OF ASSIMILATION

Leadership:

  • Oversee guest follow-up and connection pathways, helping visitors move from first-time guests to engaged members through clear communication, events (i.e. picnics, BBQs, breakfasts, etc.), and discipleship opportunities.
  • Develop and lead volunteer teams supporting connection, small groups, baptisms, and fostering a culture of belonging.
  • Lead and coordinate Child Dedication Sundays by preparing families beforehand and Pastor the service dedication experience, ensuring a meaningful, well-organized experience.
  • Create and manage assimilation process (Meet LBF classes, membership tracks, orientation events) that align with the church’s mission and next steps in faith and community.
  • Collaborate with pastoral staff and ministry leaders to identify and remove barriers to engagement, ensuring a consistent and welcoming experience.

 

Oversee Deacon’s:

Gatekeepers, ushers, greeters, and other volunteers.

 

Position Reports To:

  • Executive Pastor 

 

Required Skills:

  • Profess Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
  • Must be able to verbally articulate personal faith and a Biblical worldview.
  • Aligned with Life Bible Fellowship Church’s Statement of Faith and philosophy of ministry.
  • Must affirm and uphold the complementarian view of gender roles, aligning with LBF’s theological stance. 
  • Experience in pastoral ministry, small groups, or community-building roles.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and the congregation. 
  • Great computer and creative skills.
  • Ability to plan, manage time, and inspire others in their spiritual growth.
  • A heart for discipleship, pastoral care, and fostering authentic relationships.

 

Work Schedule:

This full-time role involves 40-50 hours per week. 

  • Flexible hours based on church activities.
  • Regular attendance is required at weekend worship services.
  • Regular attendance is required at weekly staff meetings.
