Job Description:

Hunters Creek Community Church (HCCC) is seeking for a full-time Youth Pastor who will engage with all aspects of junior and high school ministries. The Youth Pastor will model and disciple students to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He will teach from the Scriptures, relate to students by sharing their joys and burdens, train potential leaders to serve effectively in the church, seek after those who are not believers, and cast vision for the future … all to the glory of God! 

HCCC is a Biblically-driven, Gospel-centered church that is passionate about their worship of Jesus. The congregation consists of around 250 people including a significant number of young families and an active, growing youth program. 

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Consistently teach Biblical truth at any youth meeting or special event to foster spiritual growth and deepen the student’s faith in Christ
  • Organize and implement curriculums that are relevant to students in today’s culture and in agreement with the church’s doctrinal position
  • Build effective relationships with students and parents through continuous communication and intentional involvement with families, as well as fostering safe interaction on social media platforms 
  • Model godly leadership demonstrating how to stand for Biblical truth, especially in difficult situations
  • Identify and train future leaders helping them to understand their spiritual gifts and guiding them to serve with joy in the local church
  • Develop a culture that interacts with unbelievers and encourage all believers to comfortably to share their faith in Christ
  • Recruit, develop, and train youth leaders and helpers to assist in various youth ministries, including discipling students 
  • Oversee and manage all finances related to youth ministry, while operating within the annual budget allotment 
  • Preach on Sunday mornings four times a year
  • Shadow and assist other members of the church staff in the areas of pastoral care and counseling

Qualifications for the Position:

          Education: Earned a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry, Biblical studies, pastoral ministry, or other Bible focused degree

          Experience: Previous experience in student ministry is preferred, including teaching Bible studies, interacting and discipling students, and management within a mid-size church

          Skills: Effective communication skills, enjoys being with youth and comfortably engages with young people at their level, capable with administrative tasks, creative and competent with technology, and works as a team player 

          Character: Must communicate a clear understanding of his salvation and convey a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, possess a deep love and reverence for God’s Word, be willing to lead with humility, and others will affirm that his moral character aligns with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

          Theology: Eternal security, believer’s baptism, pre-millennial, Cessationist, and agrees with HCCC’s Statement of Faith 

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Full-time salary of $45,000
