Camp Counselor
Position Overview: To care for and strengthen the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of campers entrusted to Kenbrook’s care.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and fully participate in staff trainings prior to camp session
- Ensure cabin is clean, welcoming and ready for camper arrival
- Create a welcoming environment for parents and campers at drop-off; assisting families as needed
- Fully engage with campers during session; ensuring emotional, physical and spiritual safety
- Prepare and lead truth talk Bible devotions for assigned campers
- Create environment for effective TAG time (Time Alone with God)
- Foster strong, healthy relationships between and among campers
- Actively participate in camp activities; leading activities as necessary
- Complete weekly summary sheet and birthday cards each week
- Ensure campers complete weekly evaluation
- Model biblical morals and values at all times
- Assist other staff as needed and able
Qualifications:
- Growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Supportive of the mission, vision and values of Kenbrook Bible Camp
- Teachable spirit; team-player attitude; servant heart; responsible; industrious; hospitable
- Love for and desire to work with people in a camp setting
- Work efficiently and effectively supervised and unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and relational skills in communication, understanding, grace and faithfulness
- Comfortable speaking in front of small and large group
- Regularly connected with a local body of Christ
