Ministry Assistant for UR Kids

PURPOSE & EXPECTATIONS

The Ministry Assistant is responsible for supporting the ministry of UR Kids by assisting the Family Life Minister. The main portion of this role will be equipping volunteers. As a minister of Urban Refuge Church, the Ministry Assistant will affirm and embrace the statement of faith,

doctrines, and theology of Urban Refuge Church and will become a Membership Partner, if not one already.

The above responsibilities would be completed in approximately 15 hours per week, with one shift in-office per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Volunteer Management and Communication

Onboard and support volunteers: Guide new volunteers through the approval process

from start to finish.

Coordinate volunteer schedules: Create the UR Kids volunteer schedule and assist

volunteers in finding substitutes when needed.

Serve as a point of contact: Be the primary administrative contact for UR Kids and UR

Youth volunteer leaders.

Coordinate meetings: Schedule and attend regular meetings with UR Kids volunteers.

Manage communication: Coordinate email communications to volunteers and families.

 

Curriculum and Event Coordination

Manage curriculum: Coordinate the printing of curriculum and manage access for

volunteers.

Plan family events: Work with the Family Life Minister to administer VBS and

occasional family events and manage their promotion.

Develop promotional schedules: Manage the promotion schedule for events and

announcements.

 

Database and Administrative Support

Manage family database: Oversee the UR Kids check-in and registration process in

Planning Center.

Develop new family workflows: Create and implement a workflow in Planning Center

for new families and follow-up.

Maintain database records: Manage the people/check-in database by running lists and

updating contact information.• Create and manage forms: Develop, collect, and manage various forms, such as

feedback forms and waivers.

Organize supplies: Help manage the storage closet and supplies.

Complete other duties as assigned: Perform additional duties as needed to support

the team.

 

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

• Affirm and embrace the core beliefs, doctrines, and theology of Urban Refuge Church.

• Display the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)

• Preferred 2 years’ experience working in administrative roles.

• Experience in working in a church or other non-profit work environment.

• Knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher,

Church Database Management, Dropbox, and others not listed, as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to teach at UR Kids as requested
