Children's Ministry Intern
The Children's Ministry Intern will work under the Coordinator to provide leadership in three main areas: Sunday morning worship, Wednesday night “Kids Club” (elementary youth group), and monthly special events.
This will include:
- Planning programmatic elements (games, music, crafts, etc.)
- Planning and teaching lessons.
- Brainstorming and facilitating events (Family Fall Carnival, 4th-5th grade retreat, etc.)
- Working alongside and encouraging volunteer leaders
- Meeting weekly with Children's Ministry Coordinator to plan programming, discuss upcoming events, and complete prep work (usually a few hours before Kids Club on Wednesday, but this can be adjusted depending on scheduling needs).
- Assisting with weekly programs: Sunday School (Sundays at 10am) and Kids Club (Wednesday nights at 6:30-8 pm). Interns will arrive early to prepare for programs and stay after to clean up.
- Participating in occasional ministry training (readings, webinars, etc.)
- Engaging in contact work with students, parents, and other leaders by attending events and other creative opportunities (going to games, recitals, concerts, etc.)
- Being reliable, flexible, and willing to help when unforeseen circumstances arise.
