High School Ministry Intern

School year high school ministry intern will work under the coordinator to provide leadership in three main areas: Sunday morning worship, weeknight youth group, and monthly special events. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Planning programmatic elements (games, music, crafts, etc.) 
  • Planning and teaching lessons. 
  • Brainstorming and facilitating events (Fall Camp, All Nighter, etc.) 
  • Work alongside and encourage volunteer leaders 
  • Meet weekly with Youth Ministry Coordinator to plan programming, discuss upcoming events, and complete prep work. 
  • Assist with weekly programs: Sunday School (Sundays at 10am) and Youth group (Tuesday at 6:30-8 pm). Interns will arrive early to prepare for programs and stay after to clean up. 
  • Attend Sunday worship services during the school year, and sit with students or families for assimilation into the life of the church. 
  • Participate in occasional ministry training (readings, webinars, etc.) 
  • Engage in contact work with students, parents, and other leaders by attending events and other creative opportunities (sports, school lunches, coffee, baking cookies, etc.) 
  • Be reliable, flexible, and willing to help when unforeseen circumstances arise.
